Buyer Myths? As If.

Total misconceptions have been floating around the first-time buyer world for way too long. Time to clear them up.

Myth: You need 20% down. As if. Plenty of first-time buyer programs start well below that, some as low as 3%. There's a whole world of down payment assistance out there, and part of my job is helping you find it.

Myth: Your credit has to be perfect. Whatever. Lenders work with a range of credit profiles every single day. Let's look at where you stand and build a real plan from there.

Myth: Starter homes have to be ugly. Totally not true. Some of the most character-filled homes on the market are exactly the ones first-time buyers can afford. Original hardwood and a great porch don't come with a luxury price tag.

Myth: You need to be married, settled, or have the "right" career to buy. So over this one. Buying a home is about your readiness, your budget, and your goals, full stop. Single, self-employed, freelance, whatever your life looks like, there's a path.

Myth: You don't need an agent, the apps do it all. As if scrolling listings on your phone can negotiate a contract, catch a red flag in an inspection report, or walk you through escrow. The apps are great for browsing. I'm great for everything that happens after you fall in love with a listing.

Buying your first home should feel exciting and clear. Let's talk about what's true for your situation.
